Hi, I'm Aili.

Wedding photographer, lifelong photographer, nature lover, professional happy crier.

I've been photographing for as long as I can remember — long before I knew what I was doing with a camera, I knew I loved noticing things. Light through the trees. Little details. The way people move when they don't know they're being watched.

My love for nature is actually what first pulled me into photography, and more than a decade later, I'm still chasing good light, beautiful places, and the moments that happen when people are simply being themselves.

I photograph weddings because I love people who are real. The loud ones. The sentimental ones. The ones who dance badly and don't care. The ones who cry during the ceremony even though they swore they wouldn't.

And yes, I am absolutely one of those people.

I cry at weddings. A lot.

You might hear me called "Smiley Aili."

Apparently, I smile a lot.

My friends call me that, and honestly, they're not wrong.

I like people who don't take themselves too seriously. I like laughter and happy chaos and being outside and making things with my hands. I'm crafty in approximately 47 different ways, depending on what I've decided I'm interested in that week.

I'm also a little obsessed with my bunny, I could talk about music for an unreasonable amount of time, and I firmly believe Wisconsin cheese deserves more respect than it gets.

And if we're being completely honest...

I can burp really, really loudly.

What does all of that have to do with your wedding photographs?

Probably more than you'd think.

I don't want to photograph you being the perfect couple.

I want to photograph you.

The way you actually laugh together. The way your friends act around you. The little looks nobody else notices. The moments you weren't expecting to matter until you see them in a photograph years later.

I think that's why I've always been drawn to photography in the first place.

I'm curious about people. I'm curious about moments. And I really like making things.

Weddings just happen to bring all three together.

And when you have me along for the day...

I'll be the calm one when the timeline gets weird.

I'll give you direction when you're wondering what you're supposed to do with your hands.

I'll cry during your ceremony and pretend I'm not.

I'll notice when your dress needs fixing.

I'll help find the missing boutonniere.

I'll make friends with your aunt.

I'll probably be smiling.

And when the moment doesn't need me?

I'll step back and let you live it.

Because you don't need another person telling you how to experience your wedding day.

You just need someone you trust to notice it.

That's what I'm here for.

The big moments.

The tiny ones.

The beautiful mess in between.
